Preparing your quilt to be machine quilted by Sharon

  • No basting or pinning is needed.
  • Prepare batting if necessary, unless you are having Sharon supply the batting.
  • Cut backing fabric and batting four inches on each side larger than the quilt top. Make sure the backing fabric is squared and pressed with no ragged edges. In order to load your quilt, all edges must be straight.
  • I recommend 1/8” stay stitching on all edges to prevent stretching and protects seams.
  • Carefully press and fold the top and backing.
  • There is an additional charge of $25.00 per hour to square edges and press backing fabric.
  • If you prefer, Sharon can make the backing from your fabric for an additional $25.00 per hour.
